Willow is an adorable 4-month-old German Shepherd puppy. She was born to a German Shepherd mom who was turned into the Lancaster shelter pregnant, together with a large German Shepherd male from the same family. Westside German Shepherd Rescue pulled the pregnant mom from the shelter and shortly thereafter she gave birth to 6 beautiful babies in a foster home.
Even at this young age, Willow‘s shepherd traits are apparent: she will be large at full maturity, is very confident, and is exceptionally quick to learn, already knowing the basic commands of sit, down, come, stay and high-five. She loves people of all ages, especially children, and she socializes well with dogs and cats. She eagerly anticipates her daily walks and visits to the park. Unlike most puppies, Willow is not destructive as long as doggie toys and rawhide chewies are at hand. She loves sleeping on the bed with you at night (but will settle for the floor, if you insist) but otherwise knows that the furniture is off limits.
Beautiful Willow needs a special family because she was born with a congenital heart condition. Surgery corrected one defect but she will have to live with the other, which in no way inhibits her personality, enthusiasm or mobility. She should not, however, climb mountains or run marathons, and she will require an annual diagnostic test to confirm her status.
Willow is housebroken, spayed and micro-chipped. She is eager to join a family she can love and protect, and is waiting to meet you.
